Birthday Celebrations & Updates!

In this episode, I discuss the latest updates on my journey toward Jaw Surgery. I share what step we are on and where we are headed next. Today is my husband's birthday and he is given a special shout-out, as well as updates on Baby Liam and how we are only 79 days until his due date. It seems so far away but I am learning that it is going by fast.

The surgery discussed is used to correct a severe malocclusion (the teeth of the upper jaw or maxilla do not align appropriately with the teeth of the lower jaw or mandible) from a misaligned jaw is called orthognathic surgery. This includes procedures to move the upper jaw or maxilla forward, backward, or even widen it. It also includes procedures to move the lower jaw or mandible rotationally to correct asymmetry, forward or backward. Orthognathic surgery is usually completed in conjunction with orthodontic treatment or braces.
